Cake Decorating with Gina!

Somehow it had come up with Rocky that Adrienne and I had wanted to take a cake decorating class...but we came to Japan instead :) Anyway, he informed us that Gina was a pro...you should see her cakes, they're AMAZING - people order them for everything!! So Gina offered lessons and we gladly accepted! Lisette baked cakes for us and the three of along with Mika (one of the Japanese ladies from church went over to Gina's last week for our "class" We had such a good time...I need more practice, but we got a lot of good tips and I think my cake turned out pretty well for a rookie!

Learning how to make the frosting smooth
There are apparently millions of different frosting tips in all sizes and shapes!

Practicing my border...it was tough to make the scallops all the same!!!

My finished border
Next I had decided to spoil my kids and take them cake for Kite Day...so I cut out a kite shape and forked the outline so I could do the frosting
My finished cake! Cute huh?
All the finished cakes - we learned how to do roses, trees, borders, filling in shapes...so fun!
My cake and I
The class and our teacher :) We had a great time!

By all accounts, this looks like it was a very successful cake making class. Well done! All of my attempts to frost a cake always fail miserably.

This post is really pure inspiration. :)
